Premiere of the film «Suvorov»

The premiere of the cartoon «Suvorov: the Great Journey» took place on Monday, April 26 at the capital’s cinema center «October». The picture became the first full-length project of Soyuzmultfilm for the general public in more than 20 years, the show went to a full house, a TASS correspondent reports.

One of the first viewers of the film was the Minister of Culture of Russia Olga Lyubimova. In connection with the release of the cartoon, the Ministry of Culture of Russia noted that this is only the second experience of understanding the image of the great Russian commander in the domestic cinema. Before that, only the picture «Suvorov», which is now more than 80 years old, was released on the screens. «The biggest joy, probably, is that the hall is full, that we sit next to each other, all together, have the opportunity to invite our grandparents to cinemas in all regions, to go to the cinema for the May holidays to watch a Russian animated film, a film that the Soyuzmultfilm studio has not had for 20 years,» — she addressed the audience from the stage.

– This film is similar in character to its main character. Simplicity and wisdom, steadfastness and faith in the best, in love and kindness – that’s what this picture tells about, – said the chairman of the board of directors of the Soyuzmultfilm studio Juliana Slashcheva.

A feature of this cartoon was the fact that for the first time in more than 50 years, a symphonic design was used on Soyuzmultfilm. Ivan Uryupin’s music was brilliantly performed by the Symphony Orchestra of the Ministry of Defense of the Russian Federation. In addition to a symphonic soundtrack over an hour long, the composer also wrote a number of songs for the film, which were performed by Russian stars. Philip Kirkorov, who played the role of the main negative character, said that it was not easy to work also because he was literally tortured, forced to rewrite dubs: director Boris Chertkov fought for every intonation, and composer Ivan Uryupin — for every note, since the hero of the artist also sings. But as Philip noted, he is proud to have taken part in the Soyuzmultfilm project, because he grew up on the animation of the legendary studio.

From May 1, the movie will be released in wide distribution across the country in more than 1,400 cinemas.
